1. Budgeting
One of the first things we discuss with our clients is their proposed lighting budget. A ballpark range for lighting and installation is 10%-15% of the overall construction cost.
2. The Lighting Designer
Selecting a lighting designer should be done early in the project to facilitate teamwork between the professionals involved in the project.
3. Furniture Layout
Furniture layout consisting of size and location of furniture is an important element in the design process and should be provided ASAP in the process.
4. Colors
Colors, surfaces and finishes of walls, ceilings, countertops and floors are important to our lighting design as it affects absorption and reflectance. This helps to determine the amount of light used.
5. Lighting Components
Specifying lighting components is part of our service to our clients. This includes specifications for all recessed fixtures, decorative, under-cabinet and landscape lighting. We will also specify all switching and dimming controls.
6. Drawings
Drawings may be provided based on the scope of the project. Fees are structured based on the number of hours needed to create the drawings. A proposed estimate will be given once project size and scope is determined.
7. Lighting Installation
Installation is available for all remodel projects located in Southern CA. A separate estimate will be provided by the electrical contractor after a initial site inspection of the project is complete.
8. Installation Administration
Installation Administration is offered as part of our service in our complete package. Project co-ordination is an important aspect of our services and we will be on-site as needed during the installation.
